WORX SD Slide Driver Review | A tool review from Cleb’s Tech?!

This is a first for Cleb’s Tech! A tool review! For this tool review I have the WORX SD Slide Driver. A multibit auto screwdriver.

Big thanks to WORX for sending this over for review!

What’s in the Box?

It’s not really a box, it’s more traditional retail packaging. But included in said packaging is the screwdriver itself, the two bit ‘cartridges’, a holster for the tool, an AC charging adapter and some documentation.

Design and Features

The design of the Slide Driver is very robust. It features a fully hard plastic exterior with a rubber grip. The slide mechanism works really well and slides with ease. Going around the tool you will find the WORX logo on the side and just down from this is the main trigger to get the screwdriver going. Up the top is the main slide for the slide driver. This is where you turn and interchange the bit ‘cartridges’ depending on the screw you are screwing in.

On the front of the tool is one of the main selling points for the slide driver. It’s the built in screw holder. This will hold the screw while you screw it in and open up once the screw is all the way in. A super handy thing to have, especially if you are screwing things in where you can’t always use two hands.

Features

  • Removable screw holder for one handed operation
  • Automatically change between bits with a simple slide action
  • Detachable and replaceable bit cartridge
  • 4V MAX Lithium battery holds a charge for up to 12 months
  • Side-mounted switch allows you to operate in reverse

Technical Specs

How does it perform?

Well for general purpose things like door handles, cabinet doors, flat pack assembly and well what I used it for. PC Building. It works great. But if you are going to be screwing anything that needs a bit of oomph to drive in, example would be hanging a wooden door you need something with a little more power and drive like a drill or impact driver. But for general use around the home, it’s a must have!

Pricing

The WORX SD Slide Driver can be found online for around $70 AUD. Not a bad asking price!

Conclusion

The WORX SD Slide Driver is a really handy thing to keep around the home for things like flatpack building or tightening cupboard door screws. It comes with most screw bit that you would need but you can easily interchange some custom ones if you wish.
